Southern Oregon boasts one of the mildest climates in the Northwest! Average annual rainfall is approximately 30 inches, comparable to the San Francisco Bay Area and much less than climates farther north! Wind velocity is among the lowest in the nation! Snowfall on the valley floor is minimal, only 2-3 inches each year. There are 4 distinctive seasons. With its warm summers and mild climate, to a ski resort in the winter. Southern Oregon is an excellent place to garden. The Rogue Valley is still known as "pear country," and you can see trees from the old orchards around town. The climate is also conducive to growing grapes, and there are local many wineries and vineyards to enjoy.
 
lnterstate 5 links the valley to all the major cities on the west coast and it is only an hour and a half drive to the beautiful Oregon coast and likewise to Crater Lake National Park.
